Well, I figured it was time for an update...
...Sorry it's been so long, friends. I have been on some what of another planet. I also didn't feel entirely justified writting a self indulgent journal entry in the midst of the catastrophe sweeping the southern region's citizens. Life has been handing me some pretty lucky cards lately and I knew it would be in Karma's best interest to sweep them from under me should I gloat during such a time of need. Also, it just didn't feel right. However, it has forced me to re-evaluate my own circumstances and appriciate them that much more.
School has started. It was so foreign to me to have back to school butterflies! It was something I haven't felt in almost five years. But I gotta tell you guys, I couldn't be happier. I may only be taking two evening classes- English 101 on monday nights and Music apprciation on wed. nights- but I am starting to really feel like I am doing something with my life. The people in my music app class are great. Alot of them just know what they like to listen to, and some are only taking this class to get their music credit, but either way, everyone is so open. Their ears, minds and almost their souls are becoming bear after each class. I have to hand it to the teacher, though. She is really starting to enstill a sense of gratitude towards classical music in all of us. Through seeing how the music is effecting us physically and mentally, we can then understand and well, appriciate it. Hence, music appriciation. My english class on the other hand, seems to be filled with quite a young crowd and on the first night we even had a heated debate about illegal immigrants! I could see passion in some of these people's eyes and that was awesome!
For an extra credit assignment, I am going to pose the question: "Are there any modern day compossers among us?". My music app. teacher believes the answer to this question is No, however, I am not convinced she is right. I already have an idea of some artists' work that i want to investigate, but can any of YOU tell me about a musician who you think to be a modern day composer? I think this should be interesting....
Last, but certainly not least, there is a boy. A boy who I met through a co-worker. A boy who took me to a bonfire on saturday, held my hand and rubbed my shoulders. A boy who told me he loved the shape and color of my eyes. A boy who did not insist on kissing me. A boy who will not try to get into my pants before he's gotten into my brain. Actually, I met a man...

Composers...? Gosh, there are so many levels here. What are the delimiters? Music has changed so much over the centuries, decades, ages that it is quite difficult to compare the form of some today against those of yesteryear. What about forms of musical art that don't incorporate instruments, like rap or rhyming rhythm? I know a lot of people shy away from, in the conventional sense, but what about Eminem? There is a word master, lyricist and rythmetic master. Or Babyface, who has probably written more songs & music than anyone alive today? Or if this is subjected to the traditional art of 'composing' what about Santana? A lot of his art fall under the scrutinous eye of a 'composition'.
I'm glad things are going well! And a new...interest...good for you. But remember this? I hate to be a touchhole but I am just trying to be sensitive to your feelings; I know how scarred mine are.
I....I just don't get it.....I really don't....I wanted to believe I was good at reading folks, but, it seems, I am not. So, on that note, here is my proclamation for the school year forthcoming: I WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTNACES (NO matter how cute he is) DATE!
I'm just sayin'...
met a boy huh....hmmm..........
