So, kiddo's, I'd say it's high time for an update, wouldn't you? Hope people are still into what I've got to say, it's been so long.....
....Anywho, this summer seemed to go by way too quickly, nestled and whirl winded in there was a trip to the beach, two new issues of Urbancode, a brief flirtation with sobriety (and by brief, I certainly ONLY mean like two weeks...) and of course loads of other things that just seem to be a a blur at this point. I was lucky enough to catch The Aggrolites on the 12th of August @ the Black Cat in D.C. It was of course two days before I left for my short beach trip, and also, subsequently the night that I re-injured my already once dislocated knee. Man! Was THAT a bitch! Basically, after a long night of be-bopping along AND NOT DRINKING at the Aggro show, I was hella thirsty. We decided to swing by the local 7-11, it was about 1 in the am at this point. Sure, maybe I was a little groggy, but I certainly had enough wits about me that I KNEW I had suddenly slid through some water, courtesy a negligently placed bucket full of the day's grime and cleaning solution. Of course, the dude and gal running the place that night IMMEDIATELY (and I do mean immediately, like before even offering me like ice for my knee and shit) were hollering about my shoes, or some shit, and that was why I had fallen. Yeah. Right. It couldn't possibly be because of your negligence. Rude_Ruca: 1, 7-11: nada. So, after the slip and slide adventure through the store, during which I heard my knee go snap-crackle-pop once more and somehow managed to get myself a pretty lil minor slice through my hand via the corner of the stainless steel coffee bar, I was ready for my short, but kinda long beachy vaca! Went swimmingly, to say the least, and I became quite the little brown berry.
Also, Issue 2 and 3 came out for the mag. Issue two I've got a really great interview with a record store own in Northern, Virginia. One of the few really good independent stores around here called Strangeland Records. In this last issue, I did an interview with local thrash faves, Lex Vegas. In the article, I managed to crown them the Southern Gentlemen of Thrash. If you have my myspace, they are in my top 36- or how many ever I am up to at this point. That's another thing, the list on there has been growing faster than a rabbit farm due to my actively seeking out new bands. One that I am REALLY into right now is Baroness. They are kind of a Doom metal band, but Mastadon-esque, though perhaps a bit more angular. I highly suggest you folks check'em out.
Recently, I also missed seeing these guys and then that guy (nick) with his band, Mondo Generator (I know that's an acoustic w/ Mark Lanegan, but I JUST LOVE that version!!!!)
And then that brings me onto my NEXT topic 'o' discussion- my debtors! Man, have the bills been chapping' my ass, lately! It SUCKS to be broke, and that is the MAJOR reason why I have not been able to see a lot of the bands that have been coming around! BUT! there is a show that it looks like I'll be able to make, god willing! The Gallows are opening for Bad Religion at the 9:30 Club in D.C. Me=SOOoooo there! hehe....ok, well, I've got some stuff to post in the Celebrity Worship group, so Peas out, for now, my dearies....
....Oh! and just so you know, it the next issue of Urbancode, which you guys should keep your eyes peeled for, I will have an article where I interviewed the DC Roller Girls! It's my little journalistic gem, guys!

By the way, "a breif flirtation with sobreity" ... I love it. I've been there.
