Bad Week....REALLY REALLY bad week....
...So, I started my new job this week, but it seems like some outside force has tried, day in and day out to ovrshadow my excitement with some impending doom. For instance:
--Sunday night, the night before my first day of my highest paying job, EVER, I get 4, yes four, count them, hours of sleep that night...
--Monday, on my way home from work, my mother calls me to tell me the water had been turned off in the neighborhood becasue of the lake from which our water is sourced, which meant no shower on tuesday...
--After talking to Chuck about the situation, we decide it would be best if I stay the night at his house, ESPECIALLY since he lives mere minutes from my new place of employment. And, his water worked...HOWEVER...that next morning, Tuesday, I am on my way out of his neighborhood, only to find that both exits out of the neighborhood were blocked off with police tape and orange traffice cones. Apparently, a lady had been walking across an intersection near one end of the neighborhood, was hit by a truck and dragged by said truck, until two more cars picked her up and dragged her for almost a mile and a half, which ended just pas the second entrance/exit to my boyfreinds neighborhood. SOOO, this meant, at 8am, that it was going to take 2 hours to clean up the mess and investigate the scene since this ended up being a triple hit and run. ALL of the traffic in the area was at a stop, and just about everyone was two hours late. But oh no, not the Ruca. No, I decided to make the 5 mile trek to work in hopefully and hour.... Well, heres what really got me...I had to walk across the intersection she was dragged through....Thats right, Ruca had to trek through Human blood. It was the most atrocious thing I have ever done, and being that I have a HUGE fear of blood, especially OTHER people's blood, I started crying, and for about two miles of our trek, I made Chuck, who was also late to work, check the back of my pants, numerous times... I couldn't stop thinking about the whole lady-being-dragged scene, either...Finally got to work by catching a cab at the local metro station, made it into work, note on my second day, just by the skin of my teeth...
--Wednesday, not so bad, but Chucky was pretty sick with the flu and was a little cranky, and for the first time all wekk, I got like 8 hours of sleep...
--Then, today, ALL day, due to the storm brewing and moving our way, I had the mother of all headaches. And, thinking that after work, I'd cruise up to my old job to pick up my check, and after sitting in traffic for thirty minutes because people in MD seem to have Labotomies on site once a drop of rain is spotted, I found out that UPS didnt bring the checks- from NYC! NOBODY and I mean NOBODY fucks with the Ruca's money! I was pissed, in that I had plans to cash said check tommarrow, get a money order and pay my FUCKING insurance company the 689 that I owe them, by OCT 1 so that my policy doesnt get cancelled. So, the next step was scurrying to find someone to loan me the money. After that was secured, I figured there'd be a whole lotta rigamarol to try and get this thing cashed by saturday. not to mention that I had to drive the 45 minutes up AND back to my home, from Chuck's, to pick up insurance info that must be mailed.....
I am fucking exhausted.....off to get some cranberry and vodkas.....5 wouldn't be enough....
