Ladies and Gentleman, a magical mystery tour of random objects found in my house....
my top favourites:
Specimen 1:
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. But for some reason I've never met anyone else who does. In Bavaria, all traditional houses have these hanging outside above the front doors. I'm not really into hunting etc but I for some reason I really like these.
I recently went to an exhibition of Bavarian artifacts over the years. There were pieces of clothing, recipes, pieces of furniture from hundreds of years ago etc. And the funny thing was that NOTHING has changed. Bavarian food, clothing etc etc is exactly the same now as it was back then. They are so fiercely proud of their culture, unlike here. If someone asked me about traditional English dress or food i wouldnt no what to say really. I have a fabulous Bavarian hat as well, with lots of feathers on it. A specimen for another day.
Specimen 2:
This used to belong to my grandfather who wore it in the 40's and 50's and now belongs to my hat collection.
I wouldn't call it a fetish because its not overtly sexual but I have this thing about mens old items of clothing and accessories, especially posh, gentlemanly things like top hats and pocket watches, pipes, smoking jackets, and leather things such as old wallets, watches. I can't really describe why I am so attracted to these things. For some reason I find them immensly comforting... the smell and feel of old leather, the way you can feel all the memories attached to old things... I can't figure out whether its because I used to be a very dapper gentleman in a past life time, or whether its some kind of father complex I have and i find these things so comforting because they remind me of my father and grandfather etc.
Its always been a fantasy of mine to dress up as a dapper gentleman with a proper suit and take a beautiful lady out. I would do do it for the next rude girls night if a) I had the money to buy a suit, and b) I found a nice lady. One can always dream....
Specimen 3:
This is my ultimate favourite. My grandparents, who live in the same block of flats as me have a habit of piling loads of random junk into my appartment. This is one of those walking sticks that you can fold out into a little stool, if you should feel the sudden urge to sit down and rest in the middle of walking. How cool is that? Now during the week it makes a fabulous place to rest my tea cup and on the weekends it comes to the market with me to perch my buttocks on it.
And that, ladies and gents, concludes todays tour.

heh absolutely. the star of the show last time was this nifty orange hat, as modelled by one of my filthy assistants:
