It's going to be a hard trek through hell to make it here that long
Well, I am home. Back to dial-up and an empty room :/ I am going to try to make the best out of this and just put a lot of effort in getting out and meeting up with old time acquaintances. I know how easily this place can suck all the livelihood out of me, and I don't want to give in without a fight this time. I am really going to miss always having someone to talk to and the convenience of 10 girls a few steps away... I am happy there and I hope I am strong enough in my happiness to hold onto it while I am down here.
Traveling to the airport and all the preparations where so easy in comparison to Thanksgiving, not only was it easy, it was just lovely and enjoyable. I only had to make two calls to Super Shuttle; the first to make a reservation and the second to confirm. Keiko helped me carry my two body bag sized duffle bags and modem to the stop and half way there when we realized we couldn't do it alone, my two most brilliant boys, Jessie and Ben, came out of nowhere and carried them for me
My heart died. Everyone was just so genuinely nice and helpful. The shuttle guy was on time and was standing in the "ready to serve" stance when we all walked up. He put my bags into the van and dazzled me with his witty humor. The next person we picked up was the nicest girl I have ever met. Her name is Caitlin and she is fabulous. We instantly bonded and chatted all the way until the next stop where we picked up another nice girl. I wish I cold remember her name. She was flying to Boston and she gave me some good tips on how to find interesting things to do in the city when I got back. The three of us talked all the way to the airport and lucky enough for us, Caitlin and I were on the same flight. Not only did she offer to help me with my bags, she got me a cart and walked extra slow with me to our gate. We took turns waiting for each other and having the best conversation. When we got in to the B line at the gate, I met this older lady that was just so amazing. She was nice, smart, and cynical. I love that mixture. I never feel as alive as I do when I am talking to witty strangers. Caitlin and I sat together on the flight and talked the whole way home. It really fills me with an immense happiness when I am in the company of a new person. We shared stories and laughed and it was just so lovely. Why can't it be this easy to talk to new boys?
It's people like I met today that I will always remember. The plane janes that weren't afraid to smile and laugh and to help others just because they wanted to. And I will remember the boys. That was amazing.
I have lots of Christmas shopping to do and my dad and I are going to go get a tree this weekend which will make me really happy. My birthday is in seven days! I can't wait for this.
Oh, did I mention that we got a little tipsy last night?
Angela and I spent many lost hours dancin' it up to the 80's meltdown! This girl and I are so perfect as friends it's ridiculous. If ever in need of some support in doing the wrong thing, we are there with that support.

What is everyone doing for the New Year?!
