i just got in 3 deliciously dark DVDs from 2 of my favorite directors named David.
oh joy!
because they are not currently available in the US, i imported the Korean versions of David Lynchs Eraserhead and Wild at Heart.
hard to imagine that Eraserhead was made in 1977. it looks so fresh today.
Wild at Heart is great too. Ahh,
Harry Dean Stanton is amazing. watching him snarl along with the African wild dogs as they tear up their prey is transcendent. Hes a damn fine Kentuckian!
(plus, you get to see a naked Laura Dern!)
and i also got in the Criterion version of David Cronenbergs Videodrome. they made the dvd look like a videotape. is that cool or what? Long Live the New Flesh!
Cronenberg is always interested in how technology bend and warps the body. there are always fleshy bits crawling around. I also have his Criterion of Naked Lunch.
fascinating.
everyone is invited over for huge helping of thick and meaty movies!
