This blog has been a long time coming, and I have to thank @leviathan for encouraging me to write it after we talked about some shit that was happening on the site.
This blog isn't going to be well liked by some of you, and most likely that's because you're part of the problem. I'm not sorry.
I'm nearly 6' tall, I carry around an extra 20 lbs, I have natural boobs that are already showing the effects of gravity (and kids). I have stretch marks. My posture sucks. But I don't care. Baring it all for SuicideGirls has been one of the most confidence building experiences of my life. The support from staff, other Hopefuls, SuicideGirls and some members has been incredible and life changing. I have finally found some place that I can be 100% me.
However, some of you like to piss in the fucking kool-aid.
As a photographer I check my girl's sets regularly. I'm on there reading comments and tags. When you use SuicideGirls as a forum for body shaming, you're asking for a bad time. The negative tags on my sets I usually ignore, because I like to pretend that I have a thick skin. But when you put negative tags on my friends' sets I have an issue.
@hex just wrote a fantastic blog about this very issue. I can't believe that a community that is famous for being so supportive of different body styles and looks would post tags that try and drag someone down.
Hey guys and gals, this is the internet. If you see something you don't like, move on. It's that simple. Don't sit there and tag "saggy tits", "camel toe", "chubby", "too skinny", "udders", "huge ass" and negative words that people aren't really going to use to search for a set they might like. Because hey, that's the point of tags, right?
I am unapologetically me. I may not be your cup of tea, but I'm not forcing you to drink me. If you don't like seeing me naked, then don't open my sets. You don't have to be an asshole. That's a choice you're making, just like I'm making the choice to put myself out there and try to become a SuicideGirl. The same goes for any Hopeful or SuicideGirl on this site. If you don't like their style or look, move on, there are thousands of other gorgeous women on this site for you to choose from with a thousand different personalities and looks, that's the point of this site. What others might think is weird or out of the ordinary is what makes this site so beautiful. It's all accepted here. I don't think @missy and @sean created this site as a safe haven for body shamers. They created this place for our bodies to be celebrated in a way that was different than all the other pin-up sites out there. And I applaud them for that.
Ladies: If someone is trying to body shame you, stand up for yourself. Fuck the haters. Fuck society's fucked up standards of beauty. Be you.
xoxo

Ps. Thank you to staff for cleaning up and deleting the negative tags.
Thank you to those members who are 100% supportive of the girls on this site.
To the other Hopefuls out there: we all have the same goal. To go pink. Please don't contribute to the body shaming. You should support others just like how you would want to be supported in your journey. 💜
