I'm a music lover, so when @missy, @lyxzen, and @rambo asked us to pick our top 5 songs that we could listen to on repeat, it was a hard one for me. I could maybe pick 5 stations on Pandora that I listen to repeatedly, but just 5 songs?? Torture. That's what it is. However, I was able to do it. Finally. Better late than never, right?
There are songs that follow me around like a soundtrack to my life. These 5 are included on that list, but they are not listed in any particular order. I have very eclectic taste in music, ranging from classical to industrial, and almost everything in between. My favorite bands include Sublime, 311, Blink 182, Combichrist, Korn, and singers like Lana Del Rey, Hozier, and my dad. Even though he doesn't sing often, I love it when he does sing. I should also warn you that I'm that girl that sings along to everything. If I hear a song that I know, no matter where I am, I'll sing. Probably off key, and usually pretty loud, but I'll be singing my heart out. The only time it causes trouble is when I'm in the middle of a shoot.
To start things off, here's a song I stumbled upon and fell head over heels for. I won't go into details about how it makes me feel...but it's one of those songs that I could imagine listening to during a long, slow kiss. I first heard it on Pandora, and then it punched me right in the earholes during an episode of the Vampire Diaries. (Don't judge, I love that show) Here's Stateless with their amazing song Bloodstream:
Next, is Lana herself. I love this lady. I seriously could listen to her sing all day long. I mean, how many people can sing about their pussy tasting like Pepsi Cola, and you not be freaked out by it? She also sings "Fuck yeah, give it to me" in a way that really makes it classy. Here's Lana Del Rey's Million Dollar Man:
Third is a song that I've loved for a long time, and takes me back to the 90's. I'll admit that 90's Pandora is usually what's playing on my computer while I'm working. Keeps me motivated. 311 is one of my absolute favorite bands, and in order to show you how broad my tastes are, I wanted to post something other than "kiss me hard, kiss me now" music. So here's Beautiful Disaster, by 311. (I have Beautiful Disaster tattooed on my foot)
My friends sometime tease me, and say that I'm a Hipster even though I've always been the way I am even before that was a term...wait, that was kind of a Hipster thing to say wasn't it? Oh well. I will admit though that as I joke one day I put on the "Hipster BBQ" radio on Pandora. Yes, there is a station called that. And yes, it is amazing. I love almost every song that has played on that station since I started listening to it. It's my go to when I'm editing photos late at night. This song is one that has been covered many times, and I have even sung the Birdy version at karaoke from time to time. This is the original version, and I adore it. Here's Bon Iver with Skinny Love:
Lastly is another one of those songs that I could listen to over and over and never get tired of it, which was the point of this blog assignment, but I rarely get tired of songs when I hear them repeatedly. (Uptown Funk is an exception that statement. If I hear that song again I might just scream. After I finish dancing, because as annoying as it is, it is also pretty catchy) Moving on...Here is Korn with Thoughtless:
That's it for now lovies. I hope that this gave you a glimpse into my varied tastes of music. 5 songs really isn't enough to show just how crazy random my love for music is, but I tried to give you a little taste. What are your thoughts on what I shared?
xoxo

(Ps, if you get a chance, also check out Arctic Monkeys "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High", Meg Myers "Desire", Massive Attack "Teardrop", Sneaker Pimps "6 Underground", She Wants Revenge "Tear You Apart", Jace Everett "BaD Things" and Mazzy Star "Fade Into You". Yes, I know I kind of cheated there...oops?)
