Well, I've given it some thought and as much as I like SG, it's become too much of a time-eater. There are lots of other things I have on my plate right now, and the distraction of SG is just a bit much right now. So I'm going to go "anon" and let my account lapse.

Long time no update.
Went out looking for pants. Came back with a new winter scarf. This will be scarf number two in the line-up. Now I have a choice. For a guy, this is a big deal.
As a male I am uncomfortable talking about clothes since that is too vain for a guy. But I will say that it's a manly scarf. If...

Thanks for the light.
So it's lame, but it's my one vice, and for now, I love it.

It's kind of weird, because I really despise Jim Carrey. Somehow the rest of the movie made up for it!
This weekend I stopped by the Feast of San Genaro in Little Italy... AGAIN!
Went and saw the "Drown the Clown" booth. For $5 you get 10 chances to dunk a clown in the water. And he's one asshole of a clown. But the funniest moment happened when someone dunked him and this old woman behind me said:

A mob-run pony ride? I'm living in the wrong country.
Today I finally learned how to cook refried beans. Maybe that's not a big deal to most, but considering I mostly improvised it based on what I've seen others do, I'm quite pleased with the results.
Now, time to embrace the last days of summer and get ready for autumn. I need to reconnect with this city since I've been kind of "out of it"...

Get a bike. I've been introducing my GF to the wonders of NYC by bike and NOTHING compares. Today we did Prospect Park. She'd never been there at all.

Refried beans are delicious.
This weekend was great! It rained like crazy yesterday which was good for what I needed to do yesterday... Which was mostly indoors. Today was nice and very autumnal. And tomorrow is great because while it is Monday, my boss is out of town for the next two weeks.
And on top of that, my Nikon Coolpix 4500 went to Nikon for service and I...

Today was quite a nice day. The sunset was "Holy shit! Must go outside because that looks so intense!" good.
Also, headed over to Governor's Island to see the relic of a bygone era and check out the pristine ghost town atmosphere.
Sadly, the abandoned Burger King was not publically accessable. Yes, abandoned. And on Governor's Island. Which has never been opened to the general...

Are people with voice boxes secretly proud of them? Is this what compels them to pick arguments with pill pushers and civil servants? At least it makes things entertaining for the rest of us. (Yes, I'm going to hell)
The Fabulous Stains was great. I'm in awe because I just found out that the man who played Billy recently played Henry VIII!
Thanks for the mac tip, by the way.

Well, I'm a little late here, but no, I have no idea what the 105 is and why everyone wants to be a part. And yes, that was from Sifl and Olly-- I was surprised so many people got that! But you were the first, so you deserve a prize.
IOU one prize.
Have a good one! PS. I have issues with my Coolpix too. I don't think it's as cool as it's made out to be.

Well, I finally watched Donnie Darko... It's okay. A very well crafted distraction that didn't annoy me as much as I thought it would. But not compelling enough for me to understand why the lines are being quoted all over the place.
It seems like everyone is trying to find--or be--the next cult film sensation. And this feels a bit forced in that way. A...

Pumpkins and I have always been good for each other. I finally buckled down and did the dishes tonight, after two nights straight in a row of soaking.
Hey, I really like your site. I've been on a similar mission here in L.A., and have found many strange and wonderful things to photograph. Now I never go anywhere without my camera...

i have a feeling that there might be a language barrier between cock and pickachu. then cock would eat pika, then pika would do something magical and japanese and explode out of cock to freedom.

RNC is gone. Hooray! No more dealing with Repiblicans and cops and stupid anarchists ruining it for the other protestors!
But I predict t-shirt sales will still be up.
FUN FACT: Street vendors are still selling "NYC Blackout 2003" t-shirts! Why not update them to say "NYC Blackout 2004! Ain't No Stopping Us Now!"
Anyway, saw Kill Bill II. Never really liked the first one....

I had someone tell me Donnie Darko was a David Lynch film. I promptly punched them.
Can we talk?
You know what's amazing about the Republican Natonal Convention coming town? How tense this city has become for no reason. Both from the side of the protestors and the side of the cops.
Won't get into details, but I am just too old--and frankly wiser--to swallow a fraction of the anarchist crap that is being spread out there by protestors. It's as...

the Ramones documentary sounds great.

Someone on the boards somewhere said that "anyone over the age of 20 who considers himself an anarchist is in an idiot." I couldn't agree more. I really, really, really hate those people for stigmatizing the protest movement and putting a negative, violent face on dissent. I can't wait for them to leave NYC either.
This weekend was filled that summer humid/hot feeling that NYC is known for. But it really hasn't been like this the whole summer. Nice and hot... But everyone is sweaty. The subway smells awful special nowadays. But in a few months as we start to freeze again, I will look back fondly on these days.
Headed over to Chinatown to grab a bite with pals....
