I started this thread on the Agnostic Group board but I thought I would share it here as well.
----------
When did you know you were agnostic?
I was 21 and had spent years trying to fit myself into some religion. I realized I wasn't really a christian when I was 16 so went in pursuit of another. I thought one had to believe SOMETHING....but I found problems with all religions that I researched.
So, really, I was sitting on a mountaintop in California and it suddenly occurred to me that I didn't HAVE to believe anythingthat I was totally comfortable NOT knowing...and that it was ok.
It was quite a relief.
So now I simply live my life as best as I can. I treat people in the best way I know. If there is a God and one day I am judged then I hope I will be forgiven for not jumping on the bandwagon...but will be appreciated for how I have lived my life.
