I didn't work today...so I laid in bed watching the cast commentary of Lord of the Rings (Fellowship) and special features on the disk pack my boy left for me. I took a break mid-day to go to the store and get lemonade. Yum.
I hopped online a few moments ago...added some favorite picks of SGs...searched the want adds (I find myself in the position of looking for a new job-long story)...posted an erotica story in the SG group...and now, doing a quick journal entry.
Not really what I would call a productive day...but I loved it.
The best part...there is a big thunderstorm rocking the Chicago area right now so there are lovely rumbles of cloud discontent filtering through the walls. I think I'll make a sandwich, sit on my porch, and watch the fun.
The rain here is so different from San Francisco. There it simply sits over the city for hours, sometimes days, and unloads before it can move over the mountains. Here it is more like a wet dog. You can smell it...that dank wetness...you know it will shake out the water at any moment...and suddenly heavy buckets of huge drops fill the area. As soon as it starts, it's gone. It's just like when you give your dog a bath and you are waiting for it to shake.
I just took a break from writing and watched the storm. Fun. Tons of lightning! Lots of cracking thunder!
Good stuff for a Monday night.
