I tend to obsess on certain ideas about a week at a time. A few weeks ago I was very perplexed, dare I say empathetic, about how cowboys used to deal with hemorrhoids. Im sure they got them, being in the saddle so much. I mean, really, look at the healing options. 1) Take multiple warm water baths per day- yeahdont think they did that. 2) Use a topical pain medication- I KNOW they didnt have that handy on the trail. 3) Rest and removal of your butt from hard surfaces- sorrybut they still had to ride everyday. 4) Surgery- my friend joked that they would go home to their wives, get liquored up, and have her remove them. Ha! No wonder they got drunk so much!!!

That stream of thought morphed into the whole flag burning discussion last week. It is completely beyond me why this is still a matter of great debate. I take issue with the fact that so much time is still being put on it. Who gives a shit? Its a matter of expression. If they think THAT is so badthen why dont they arrest everyone who doesnt vote??? It seems to me that is much more of a slap in the face of what Americans have fought for.

This week? Israel, Palestine, and other parts of the world where there is religious/ethnic wars. There are SO many cities and towns in the world where multiple religions and ethnicities exist peacefully together. Why cant they seem to get the fact that 2 groups (actually a whole hell of a lot more) can share the same land? They just need to find a way to let each other live their lives as they like. I know there have been centuries of bad blood but unless they grasp this simple concept it will never end.

ps- yes, my boy came over last night. We had fried egg sandwiches, watched a movie (Million Dollar Baby), and simply went to sleep. I do so love sleeping next to him. It truly is lovely having someone next to you.
