I have been a fan of SG for about two years. With another birthday under my belt (Sept 2), I have realized there are a lot of things I have been putting off for a rainy day. Since there is no better time to live than in the moment, here I am (finally).

There are a lot facets to my interests and hobbies. I will...

Taking a moment to start from this last weekend (and to kill the Monday recovery blues).

Last weekend for me started with a huge paintball game. I played in Georgia near Madison at the Wildfire (www.wildfirepaintball.com) 24-hour game. If you are new to paintball, you probably think of the small tournament style games of 5-to-7 man teams. What I was involved with is more often referred to as scenario woodsball or recball. With close to 500 players divided into two teams and reinsertions hourly for eliminated players. We were running voice communication and squad tactics with grenades, tanks, and other good painting fun.

Though the game played through Sunday, I left on Saturday evening to get out to Augusta, GA. The city is restoring the downtown area and inspiring new businesses to develop the area again. On of the old theaters there is the Majestic from the 20s or 30s (guessing). Last time I came through the Augusta area in 1996, this building was dilapidated and abandoned. This evening it was being reopened after a huge restoration effort. For the opening were quite a number of performers. However I was stopping for the front curbside show being put on by Pyroteque.

The Pyroteque is a Fire Troupe of street performers that have been a constant attraction at the Augustas First Friday celebration and have toured to the Charleston Spoleto festival. If you (as the reader of this tryst of prose) get a chance to see them perform, it is well worth the experience. Unfortunately I only had my camera phone with me and it simply does not do the troupe justice. However, they are better than my jumbled words impart so I will upload a few to speak for themselves.

There are a few more in my Pics if you want to glance them over. Again this is a poor shot with a camera phone. Hopefully I will have my new camera in before I go to there next preformance.
