I'm on a be nice to people kick. I helped someone out at work today. I see how miserable they are at work all the time so I go out of my way to help and make them feel better. I look around and see a general meanness or just plain selfish attitudes everywhere. It's like everyone is out to help themselves in life. There's no reason that people have to stab each other in the backs all the time. So I was thinking about this today and I started looking around the boards today and noticed it's here too. This is supposed to be a community where strange and different people can come together and be accepted. But I see people getting belittled all over the boards. I can't stand the elitism on SG. One thing I think is a big contributor to this is the post counter next to your name. I mean people feel stupid posting if they dont have 2000 posts. I did and still do. We should all be friends on here or at least welcoming of new people. How about a faq or something for all the "n00bs". Instead of making them feel stupid educate them. Lets make this place less like high school and more like a family.

It seems that no matter what job you get you end up pulled into or observing some petty politics. Why is that? I saw it a a gas station I worked at.
