Ross starring in: More Dreams
I went through a phase of not really dreaming at night, or at least not remembering having done so.
However at the moment i'm dreaming alot, i think my brain maybe went into stasis while i was at home doing nothing, now its got the prospect of something happening coming up and its restarting the engines. Opening up its valves of imagination, i figure thats why i want to do something creative.
If my dreams can be so vibrant and interesting why dont i just throw some of that originality or just ideas somewhere else.
Problem is, im incredibly lazy. If i could live a life doing nothing, i probably would. Hey i'd be bored but i'd still do it.
The thing that always makes a difference is other people, if i had other people around me doing similar things id be joining in. I'm a social kinda guy.
At the moment if you walked into my room apart from the mess you'd see me in a similar position. Its how i'm spending about 90% of my spare time at the moment. Headphones on, in need of a shower, listening to music or watching a movie/tv series.
TV Show of choice currently: That 70s Show - Season 3
So you know when you've got quite alot of things you could do, but you cant be bothered with any of it?
Thats pretty much my life-long mood. I might go back to bed soon, enjoy my day off work.
So i watched Clerks last night, the acting isnt great, some of the shots and directional work is seriously questionable but overall it comes off as a likeable movie.
Today i watched American Splendor, pretty enjoyable film. Many of you will know who and what it is about. I knew but i cant say i'd ever read any of the American Splendor comics.
I've never been a big comic book reader.
I read my first comic 2 years ago, Sandman by Neil Gaiman.
I've read a few more since then but there arent any comic book stores around here so i only read them when im at University. Plus i dont know anything about comics so i never know which ones to pick up and read.
I guess i'm just out of the habit of reading altogether. As a kid i used to read all the time, one christmas i got two Terry Pratchett books and i'd read them both by the next day.
Now i go weeks, months without picking up a book. My latest book is The DaVinciCodeThing, its an alright book. I still havent finished it though and i've been reading it about 2 months. I just pick it up in my lunch breaks at work every now and again. I'm always able to dip straight back into it though and always remember whats going on and where i am in the story. My minds quite useful that way, its one of its few tricks.
So now i'm faced with a few choices. Do something creative, which i always want to do. Or take the easy option.
Today i'm taking the easy option (for a change).
I keep telling myself i'll do all these things tomorrow, but i just dont see any of it happening unless someone else is involved. Maybe i'll break the habit of a lifetime.. who knows.
So its almost time to bid this....
Goodbye for another few months and head back to the drink/drug filled madness that is university.
I must say i'm looking forward to it.

oh Ross, like most of YOUR time is spent productively...
_dictionarygirl_:
I highly recommend that you read some American Splendor. Harvey Pekar is one of my great personal heroes. (Which probably isn't a good thing, but hey, he's awesome!)
