Ross wakes up from his nap
So i got the job!
I could of got 2 jobs but i never would of fit 2 full jobs in my week.
New Music of the Day:
Foo Fighters - In Your Honour
The Alkaline Trio - Crimson
Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
The Dandy Warhols - Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia
Jamiroquai - Dynamite
Moby - Hotel
Now apart from the Bloc Party album which i've heard pretty much all of already i've no idea what any of these albums are like.
I've been a Foo Fighters fan ever since the debut came out in '95. So i havent really listened to them in a few years but i still held out hopes the new album would be something special. Dave Grohl seems to scream on most of his songs these days though, i think its probably because he's just ragged his voice something rotten (he does no voice warmup on any live performance).
Thanks go out to the people who replied to my Friends Thread about new music, i got some really good stuff from there.
I watched Spanglish yesterday and the ending really threw me, its not often the ending of a film gets that kind of a reaction out of me. Really good movie.. definately worth a watch.
I went out for a meal and the portions were huge! now i know my appetite is not what it used to be after the random eating times at university but this would of been a mission even at my peak. I dont think anyone managed much more than half their meal. Such a waste.
Tomorrow night i'm out 'on the town' hopefully there will be alot of old friends around to chat to.
Im feeling really unoriginal at the moment.. i want to make something but im not sure what.
I wish i had a 4-track, a Bass Guitar and a Keyboard right about now.
I'm going to learn Japanese this summer
A strong statement to make for someone who's never learned a language properly in their life. My grip on french is about as good as my grip on reality.
I've always wanted to go to Japanese though, and the idea always goes through my head that if i'm going to go there i should at least vaguely know the language.
A summer at home.. what a great time to start learning.
I'm 'aquiring' about 6gb's worth of learning material.
That should help to start with.
So here i ask myself and you a few questions
- Is there any chance i'll learn anything at all?
- Do i have the patience or drive to do this?
- Will i just give up after a week?
We'll see soon enough i guess. Wish me luck, im trying to achieve something that i actually quite want to do.

But, yes, I'd been meaning to do that language thing this summer, I was thinking Esperanto, but if you're rocking the Jap then I might do that two, then we can practise together, and look impossibly cool in bars, and so on.
I understand your new job requires you to have a full and manly beard, so that people know that you're a rugged outdoors type.
I hear you had to prove your ability to kill a wild animal with your own hands to get the position.
