The Rosspel:
Chapter 139 - The Hobo On Tour
So last night I finally won a Pub Quiz. Bear in mind there were only 4 teams entered so its not really that impressive, all the same a 20 bar tab is quite a nice prize. The team consisted of Myself, foralways, septembre and 2 other friends. We got a bottle of house white, a bottle of house red then got a bit drunk.
The quiz master was pretty darn poor though, his current events questions were actually just read from yesterdays 'The Sun' and the music round questions varied from the outright obvious to the blind guess territory.
As we won though most of the team will return next week to see if we can win some more free alcohol.
Yesterday i decided to buy a few DVDs from the HMV sale. I bought:
---- The Money Pit - Classic 80s comedy with Tom Hanks, Shelley Long and a falling down mansion.
---- Barton Fink - Coen Brothers do more crime. John Turturro and John Goodman star.
---- Sideways - Paul Giamatti in another great film, wine tasting never looked so interesting.
This cost me a grand total of 8.97. I do like sales.
On thursday i'm heading into London town and i'll have about 4 hours to kill before my sister gets off work, any suggestions on shops to go to? Places of interest to look at? Anyone in town fancy meeting up for lunch?
I'll be free from about 1.15pm til near 5.30pm.
Thursday night i'll see my sisters, neither of which i've seen for quite a while, i'll also get to check out my sisters flat and see what its like. I'm quite interested to see how nice this place is she's at.
Then on Friday i shall be watching the stars at this years Wimbledon with the family, hopefully the weather will hold up.
I knew this wasnt going to be an interesting journal entry as soon as i started it, i'm quite tired and haven't really had the time to think up anything of interest to say. I basically only made it so i could ask what i could do in London on thursday. Over the next two days i think i'll try and start writing or planning my short story, it'll be a film noir style affair (if i can muster it) it depends how creative i'm feeling, it tends to come along in fits and burts that only seem to last about 10 minutes once every few weeks. For those 10 minutes though everything just kind of feels right and flows, its just a shame it doesnt come around more often, maybe i should just give myself more opportunities to write.
Songs of the moment:
-------------- Gomez - Hamoa Beach (infact i've been listening to the album alot recently)
-------------- Grandaddy - Elevate Myself
Hopefully i'll have a productive next few days, i might even take a photo of my new haircut to excite and enthrall you. Hugs for all.
One Happy Ross. x
