Thanx for the wishes of good sleep in dreamland.
And yes I did get a chance to sleep in real good.
This weekend was eh ok I guess. I worked most of it & still have tonight before I am off tomorrow. Nothing exciting happened. We did have this lady who was 24 weeks pregnant with her 2nd child, I think. She was visiting from Texas when she started bleeding. No real contractions. This was Friday night. I guess it turns out that she ended up having her baby. They dont know if the baby survived or not. I hope it did & that it's doing ok. How sad. We also had this young girl who was pregnant 20 weeks & she was in pre-mature labor. She was in some serious pain. Dont know what happened to her though. But she was dialated.
I can handle just about anything. I've seen some pretty nasty shit. But one thing that makes me nervous as hell are pregnant women. Not the oh I'm having contractions every 10 minutes ones. But the I am hurting so bad I feel like pushing cause the baby is coming soon ones. The one patient who gets me flusttered pretty easily. I have yet to see an actual live birth. Just how it happened while I was in paramedic school. So hence if I ever get a pregnant woman who is pretty close, I get flusttered. I know it's a matter of time. I just hope that I have a decent reliable smart partner with me that day. Once that happens I might feel more comfortable around pregnant women. I think it's more of the fear of the unknown thing.
Did I ever mention that I got molested by a pregnant woman once?
