Alrighty, now for the journal entry that was meant for yesterday. Before I do that though. When I was editing my journal entry & I was done. I never saw the add blog icon. All I saw was the edit blog. Did I miss it? All it kept doing was going back to the original blog, I had posted. I don't know.
Anyway, I worked with this new guy last week. He's coming onto the night shift. I couldn't get a good read off of him. I've heard he's real shitty & very lazy. He seemed ok both shifts I worked with him. Although we did have a screwed up call the 1st night. We picked up this cocky guy who got stabbed 4 times. 3 times in the back & once in the neck. Missed his main artery but he was ok though. So we got him to this specialized hospital. When I went to go take him out the back of the ambulance. He was arguing with my partner. Kept saying he wanted to sign himself out. Didn't want to go into the hospital. So we told him he had to go in to sign himself out. He had to see a dr for that. Things got from bad to worse in a matter of a couple of minutes. So I got this cop that followed us to the hospital to try & calm him down. The guy just stood there & did nothing. Next thing I know the patient is bleeding from the stab wound in his neck. It wasn't a dribble it was like a water faucet. We couldn't control the bleeding cause he doesn't want us near him. Unless it was to take the iv's he had on both arms. He got out & made his way into the hospital. All the while leaving a trail of blood everywhere. We were seriously waiting for him to pass out. Of course he never did though. He ended up staying after all. He made such a mess inside the ambulance. It took us about an hour to clean up all the blood. Blood smells & creeps into the smallest of places.
What a pain in the ass this guy was. It's one thing if he was confused. He wasn't, he was just being an asshole. Threatened to call his lawyer & sue us for being unprofessional. Don't waste my time if you don't want to be taken to the hospital. I wanted to smack this guy upside the head so bad.
So that was my crazy call of the week. I've never had a patient do that before. Definitely a 1st for me. That call ended up draining both my partner & I. I ended up going out on Friday. Saw a few people I hadn't seen in a while. Took care of a drunk friend. She was amusing as hell. Drunk and all & she's still a perv. Entertaining to say the least. So I hope everyone had a good 4th. Here's to this week being a little quieter for me. I'll be going out on Friday again. I love the summer time, except when it's humid as hell out.
Hope every has a good week. Oh & how about that crazy Sox game last night. Almost 6 1/2 hours long & lasted 19 innings. Damn, that's 2 games right there. "Take me out to the ballgame" was sung twice. It's all good that they won though.
