My wife and I spent the weekend in San Francisco. The Tragically Hip were in town for 2 nights so we decided to get a hotel room. We found a really good deal at a nice new hotel. The Intercontinental on Howard.
We went shopping and had dinner the Saturday night before the show at the Fillmore. The Hip were great as always. The played the first set and then took a break. After the break there was this mad push towards the front by people and it seemed to get much busier. It seemed that people must have thought there was an opening act and showed up late. It got crazy hot and we moved to the side shortly after they started the second set. Just before the last song I was just burning up and went to go for some air and just about passed out. It was a weird feeling as I have never had that happen before. I didn't make the mistake of wearing a sweater the second night.
