Well it's 2007 and the Holidays have come and gone. I spent the 25th to the 4th in Canada. My wife and I flew in to Toronto and spend a couple days with my Dad there. We hit up the stores on Boxing day and stocked up on Roots gear.
We went to Ottawa on the 28th through the 31st to spend some time with my Mom. We also spent the afternoon with my Friend Kevin, his wife and their 2 kids.
We headed back to Toronto for New Years eve and my Birthday. We spent the night with my Dad and a couple of Friends. We all cooked something throughout the evening. We had crab dip, mussles, steak and lobster and eventually a birthday cake. We were eating dinner at midnight and had to take a break to ring in 2007. I find that the more you drink, the slower dinner gets cooked. All in all it was a good time.
My wife and I spent the next couple of days doing some shopping and just relaxing. One of the days we were out, my wife left her purse in a cab. She was in a rush to get out as traffic was coming and missed grabbing it. It was about an hour or so before she realized she no longer had it. Not knowing the cab number and not having a receipt as we had paid cash, the cab company said there wasn't much they could do. Luckily a lady called and said she had found it in the taxi and did not trust the driver. She called my dads place so we were able to go and pick it up with nothing missing other than a few dollars in change. It was a big relief for her. It's nice to know there are still honest people out there.
Were back in California now and it's back to work. Should be a busy month for both of us. My wifes sister made out ok over the holidays. She has been going to her appointments and is getting the help she needs. Hopefully it will continue and she can resume a normal life without the burden of all the problems she has had to face in the past. I certainly would never wish her hardships on anyone and my wife and I are glad to see her doing better.
