I'd heard good things about "Bridget Jones' Diary" by Helen Fielding, and so decided to give it a try. The only way to describe it is 'dumb'. Really, nothing of interest happens in the whole plot, just Bridget agonizing over men and complaning about being fat. Ugh.
I decided my next book had to be as opposite as possible, so I chose "The Metamorphosis" By Kafka, and ahhh.. what an improvement! I'll write something about it when I'm finished.
I went to Part One of Ottawa's Dark Carnival last night. Basically, it's a two part event where local artists show off their talents - live, meaning if said artist is a painter, s/he's got to be there in the process of painting a piece. It was interesting, but a lot less action then I was expecting. Also, there was a peircing/tattoo studio on location doing free work, which I've witnessed before and am always disgusted by: HOW can one keep things steril in a BAR?! Not easily, and from the looks of it, they weren't even trying. Free is tempting, but I'd rather pay a small fortune for a tattoo than get one done free in a bar.
