Woooo I'm walking all normal like now, though I'm still in the aircast. 2-4 more weeks, depending on how well it heals. My calf muscles are back now that I'm walking, but since the cast prevents me from bending my foot as one does normally when walking (the bottom of the cast is rounded, thats how I walk), when I try to walk without it I'm all tippy and drunk looking
I saw a guy with an aircast the other day, I was all, sup aircast buddy. Kekeke.
What else is new? Well I'm started school. Last semester before getting my comp sci degree, woo! I was so sure I'd not want to take it further, but now I'm starting to want to do a masters... well we'll see, that's certainly not finacially realistic right now anyway.
Anyway, this semester I have some interesting classes lined up. Security, which is something I really need to make sure I'm good with, seeing as how that's one thing thats important for pretty much any subfield I find myself in. Image Processing Analysis.. looks quite difficult, but something I know nothing about and I don't like not knowing stuff
. Psychology, a randomly picked bullshit elective where I'll be shoved in a crowded auditorium with moronic frosh kids.. and the ones I'm looking forward to most:
Natural Language Processing - a masters course, which will likely be a ridiculous amout of work, but that's fine by me, since it's pretty fascinating.
Grad project - the final requirement for my degree, which is an independent research/practical project under the supervision of a prof... Mine is NLP related, but I will keep it a secret until I iron out the details.
I've also been going out more... after two weeks where going out was too much effort to bother, I'm making up for lost time
That, and after a battle of epic proportions, I've finally got my Ubuntu/XP dual boot set up. It was the cdrom (burner and reader) crapping out on me all along
On the bright side, at least i'm not incompetant, on the bad side., so much time wasted... for a cdrom that has never given me any problem in the past... then it sees me doing something important and it's like QUICK LETS CAUSE SHIT MUHAHA.
Anyway, I'm lovin Ubuntu. This is my first time with Gnome and I'm not sure what I think... I've wished for KDE a few times, but that might just be a familiarity thing. Not that it REALLY matters... I can just open up mr terminal when Gnome says 'nuh-uh', but there is something to be said for convenience for day to day things.
Anyway, its 3pm so I guess I should go start my day...
