My leg is itchy.
Unfortunately i can't scratch it because IT'S IN A GODDAMN CAST.
Yep, I was walking along, in my (freakin' stupid) medium height platform sandals, when a curb takes me down. I limped, then hopped when I realized how painful walking was, and the next day figured I had some sort of sprain and got crutches. Today, at the urge of my friends, family and coworkers, I go to emergency (4 hours... Canadian health care is freee but none too fast). After being xrayed by a rather hot nurse
the doctor tells me that I broke a very common bone in a very uncommon place. So it's kind of unpredictable, but hopefully FOUR FREAKIN WEEKS will be enough.
Now, of all the bad things that could happen to someone, this ranks pretty low, so I do feel a little bad and silly complaining about it. But, its still turning out to be pretty tough. How do I get groceries? Take out the garbage? Sweep the floor? Aie! I'll be relying a lot on other people, and I don't like that. I DO have a rolling chair though and its all kinds of fun to propel myself across the room on it than get up and crutch (which hurts a lot, for some reason..).
I was hoping to go to Montreal this weekend but I guess I should pass now
The one bright side of being gimpy is that I have much more time for things like reading. (At the expense of partying, unfortunately
) I've been reading Freakonomics and it's turning out pretty good. Also, starting to research my honours project, which I will geek out about soon (hint, related to natural language processing
). I guess I should be writing my co-op report... but I really hate those damn things
My newly broken leg is telling me to slack off on that. Also, vodka! (err.. maybe a bad idea to drink and crutch though
)
