Today I made a curry with vegetables, red lentils, and both green and yellow plantains. Oh baby, I love plantains. They're like big ol potatoes that turn into bananas. Plantain's cousin banana is my nexy culinary experiment... a few weeks ago I tried sort of an african pilaf made with green banana. Mmm.
I finally got around to getting blinds and an air conditioner. The blinds were something I've been meaning to get for awhile, but it took until now to find some nice straw-y ones that were in my price range... $3.99 each, baby.
The air conditioner I'd been planning NOT to get. They harm the environment and raise the electricity bill. But.. guys... if you've never been to Canada you just don't understand. It gets SO HOT here in the summer that my igloo turns to steam. Seriously, last weekend was over 30 C, which felt like over 40 C with humidity. Anyway, my cats became logs of whine and pant and I became a miserable ball of hot eating uncooked oatmeal for supper because the thought of cooking or putting even moderate effort into food prep was revolting. So, I broke down and got an air conditioner, which I vow to use only in the most dire circumstances,
I acctually think I may need another, as the one I have is not powerful enough for my whole appartment. I think I'll make this one though... yet another thing on my list that I will probably not get around to until... well.. winter.
I'm staying in from the club I usually go to tonight because... I'm tired. Wtf is that noise? I';ve always pulled off very little sleep with lots of party and lots of work and everything was kosher. what happened. I can't even use the age excuse yet. Must be the heat. Yea.

I started with the first one... its kinda funny (and kind of sad, really) that I remember when the comment "this is our third newest SG in 3 days" meant something. Now, it would be 'here's our 166th newest SG in 166 days' and not mean anything. I wonder if people joining the site now would think that you were the 3rd SG to ever join, or just think "wtf does that mean?"
