Kitties going crazy
Somehow princesse opened the front door and escaped last night. I guess i left in unlocked (whoa, thats a first) and somehow she pawed it open
I noticed at 4am while up to pee and wandered around my building in my pajamas sayng 'princesse' as quietly as i could as not to disturb the neighbours, all the while thinking 'godamn, what a silly name for a cat'.
Finally I find her huddled in terror at the top of some stairs. Freedom isn't so fun after all, is it! Prince never left. He's the big chicken.
Today I come home after school and work and notice - hey! - my fridge is off! I'd noticed the freezer wasn't very cold this morning, but I didn't think much of it.. my old one used to do that sometimes, to defrost I guess. Anyway, my place being the oven that it is I put the fridge things on the window sill and the freezer things outside on a mysterious ledge. Luckily I have no meat or milk or eggs or anything else that disgustifies quickly in the warmth. I'm slightly worried about the tofu and the miso
I leave the window and screen open and go back to check on my soup I was making when I was so interruptred by deffective fridge. (miso and tofu, btw, I guess we'll see if it was ok) I go back with another bag of veggies and the cats have bypassed the barrier and ARE ON THE LEDGE. 'NOOOOOOOO CATS!!!!!' I say, and rush towards them. In their fear they luckily run BACK IN my room (learned their lesson with the front door incident). I examined the barrier and determined it's failure was human error. I left it ajar at the bottom and they pawed it open more. I waited patiently until they emerged from under the bed and promptly rebanished them from the one room I'd like to keep hair free.
Much craziness at school. I have a lab for real time systems I was suposed to demo today, but was having a lil problem. I asked the TA, who immediately said my variable was global across processes, and that was the cause. No. I'm pretty sure it's only global within the process... since, you know, other functions depend on it and THEY WORK. Also, even if he's right (which he is not), that STILL doesn't explain my problem. I blame it on rational rose. Rational rose is evil and stupid. The end, A+ for Sarah*. Anyway, that means I'll have to go back wednesday, grrgrr.. though I guess i'm lucky I can redemo at all.
*errr... in case thats not obvious.. Sarah == Rosalyn
