Today I was happy to find out I got an extention for a big assignment. I'm still going to try to finish it this weekend, but at least the pressure's off. I decided to celebrate by NOT starting right away
Instead, I finished a few things I've been meaning to do around here... little things like hanging some pictures, buying a bucket my mop actually fits, and trying to concoct some sort of barricade to keep the cats out of my room. As much as I like them, I also have to sleep, and preferably have a manageable cat hair on clothes situation in the morning.
Yes, yes, I know what you're thinking.. just close your door, your retard. I tried that! But that prevents the flow of air through this place and makes the heat situation much worse. Much much worse. So up until now, I've been piling empty boxes left from moving at my door. Not only did this look like crap, is also was not very reliable, and a pain to move everytime I wanted to enter or exit my room. So today I gathered together some random things I had around here.. bamboo from an old project I fucked up, and wooden grate type things of unknown purpose I found in the hallway here. I wanted the whole thing to be bamboo, but I didn't have enough to make the holes smaller than cat-size. These guys can squish themselves surprisingly small. So here it is:
Only problem is that it's not very sturdy.. if they paw at it long enough it'll just fall. Maybe I can attach some hinges on it and it can swing open like a door... HMMM
Oh, and why am I bothering to post this? Because I'm proud of it! It took quite some time... even though it looks like I threw it together in 5 minutes.
