So
some guy got arrested for kidnapping and sexually assulting a 14 year old. (the guy from Static-X... don't know them myself, but they seem to be popular
.
Now, I have two issues with this. First of all, the sex was consentual. She was 14 (he's 39 I think) so yes that's illegal, and should be punished. I'm pretty damn lenient when it comes to accepting age differences, because sometimes people just hit it off regardless of age.. but 14 is very young, and he obviously went out searching for a young girl specifically.
So yea, he needs to be punished for that. Also therapy.
But kidnapping? If it was consentual sex, I doubt she went unwillingly. Whether or not the sentencing was too harsh... it was, I think, the for the wrong crimes.
Soo...
reading week was a big waste of time. I needed a break, so thatwas good, but I had a lot of work to do and I barely did anything. Arg
Somehow I have to learn 2 months of physics and finish packing by Tuesday afternoon. Here's hoping... at least I only have myself to blame, haha.
Speaking of packing, yes, the move is this Tuesday!
I was packing today. My mother is getting odd. "Take some wine glasses. More. And more pots. And these tea towels. And go through the linen closet" "Dude what possibly for" "Bandaids and lightbulbs OH GAWD WHAT WILL YOU DO WITHOUT LIGHTBULBS" Like I am moving to a place that does not have stores. Partially I think it's because soon we will have potential buyers viewing this place, and the real estate agent laughed at us and said ALL CLUTTER MUST GO and that's a lot of clutter let me tell you. But mostly I think her motherly instinct is kicking in and she is convinced my head will explode if I don't have two blenders. It's nice, and I wouldn't mind shopping here rather than in a store, heh, but if I took everything she was offering she'd have nothing here! She's still got to live here another few months, after all. I also feel bad that a lot of common food staples are mine... for example, all the spices, flour, rice, oats.. Mostly the spices, that'll be quitethe collection for her to replace. Must take them though, or my food really will taste like what people think vegan food tastes like, heh.
Three VITAL items I will be without, though, are a colander, a kettle and a coffee maker. It's not that I can't go to value village and hunt out these necessities, it's more that I'll never find the time until nextweekend. Until then I GUESS I can wash veggies in the sink, heat water in a pot and drink around the grounds, heh heh. Totally roughing it.
I need to make some changes to my life style, as I can't possibly afford to live like I have been, and I'm too much of a snob to buy cheaper quality things.
So... here's my goals for Tuesday and on (already started on most of them)
1. Make my own bread. $4 for the good stuff is mad insane, and $1.50 for the shitty stuff tastes like ass. So far: successful. I am the bread master.
2. Make my own soap. so far: moderate success. Rinds from a whole orange in one bar of soap causes scratchiness and a vile smell. But cinnamon honey oatmeal is awesome. Also bought things to make lipgloss, haven't tried it yet.
3. Use things like vinegar and baking soda to clean with. The natural products are, once again, way too expensive and I don't want to inflict the Earth with chemicals just so my mirrors mirror. So far: haven't tried it. Hoping appartment will not reek of vinegar.
4. Cook everything from scratch. So far: Easy, but I don't always have time. I'll have to make larger batches and freeze it for the lazy times.
5. Make cats
some kind of natural cat food. They eat Friskies now, but I have a bit of a problem with my kitties eating filler and preservative, and meat byproducts not fit for human consumption... cats need meat, not corn and chemicals! I'll have to research more, and talk to their vet, but I'm thinking of supplementing their diet with meat meant for humans. Of course this will mean buying and cooking meat, and I have no idea how one cooks meat.. how will I know it's done
. Or maybe raw meat.. though this deffinitly needs much more research. I've heard turkey is a good one, after being frozen and thawed to kill bacteria.
Also...NO BUSSING unless it's necessary. It will be tempting to hop on the 5 second bus ride rather than walking 20 minutes to skool.
Also, I'm going to make it a point to actually clean. As it is, I let is build up until my mother makes me do it, or I make myself because it's gross. Then it takes hours.
Ok, to the homework!

Personally I think they should charge him with every kind of offense they can pin on him. It is a common tactic actually.
Anyway, hope the move went well, let me know when there will be a house warming and I will be there, crutches and all
