ullllllllllllllllcer.
i went to my family doctor back home on wednesday. it wasn't so bad. except for the fact that it turns out i more than likely have an ulcer! good grief i need to learn to breathe and not stress myself to the point of stomach acid burning a hole in the lining!
it is either a lesion or a growth my doctor said. to find out for sure, i have to go for a lovely little procedure called a 'barium swallow'. it's about a 2 1/2 hour test. involving many unpleasant things that i am trying not to think about.
other than that. i went to a PHENOMENAL, amazing, inspiring, goosepimple-inducing, etc etc, lecture! it was the Guerilla Girls, and i absolutely loved it. i am currently looking for their books online because i truly admire the work they've done and the light they've shone on me. although i'd like to think i was always semi aware of the discrimination against women and people of colour in the art world, i did not know it was as bad as it is. if anyone ever gets a chance to see them talk, grab it! they were humorous and bold and so worth my evening.
also. i am approx. 97% sure i am dropping out of my program. i am tired of the treatment i get, and the ostracizing that takes place because of my peers thoughts and feelings. it is so hypocritical of my feminist profs to tell us to stand up for what we believe, voice our concerns, our thoughts and feelings are the means for change!!!!!!...and then completely ignore our voices or put women down infront of the whole class.
le fin!
