Unfortunately our wolfin ranger, our pup, could not keep up with the schedule of the D&D group, so he left. So a moment of silence for Geirolf....
That is long enough. Met nice young lady to replace him. She is playing, Nimh the pun loving, story telling, mouse-folk bard. She is the shortest of the party, at 3 feet tall. She introduce herself in an interesting way to the party. She was hiding out in a burned out town, as the party is walking through a former warzone. The party sets up camp outside the town for the night. Our kobold fighter, Diz, takes first watch. So Nimh decides to sneak up on the party to see what is going on. She of course rolls a nat 20 on her sneak first roll on night and Diz rolls 2 or 3 or something terrible. So Diz fall asleep and Nimh decides to sneak into the camp and start cooking. The smell of melting boiling cheese wakes up the party as Nimh decides fondue would be best introduction. The party and Diz are surprise and rightfully suspicious of the traveler that broke into their camp and started cooking. However with some questioning the party decides to bring Nimh with them.
Over the course of the two days of travel they gone through they stole a magical sparking axe from an old man desperate to find something to sell to escape from poverty. The party convinced itself they were helping the man by taking the dangerous artifact from him. The old man will remember that. The players also had a misunderstanding with a giant. The giant just wanted to pet Nimh. Nimh thought the giant was trying to crush her. The party ending up slaying the lonely hill giant who just wanted a pet. Although not without the giant almost killing Diz by putting her to the next hill.
I am loving this game so far. Though I am sad about the giant.
