I got a chance to hit up the Huntington Library, half immaculately manicured garden, half art/science/history museum.
I walked maybe one quarter of it. Part one of this 3-parter will be just the paintings. I'm trying this new thing where I ignore the frames because it's hard to keep both them and the painting in focus (they're shiny because their gilded and they're more than an inch off the surface). Instead I will just try to shoot the painting itself with no flash (not allowed since these are all originals) and with whatever soft light they provide.
Enjoy.
