ARGGHHHH!! I just spent an hour writing something and hit the wrong button and now it's gone....
2nd try, this time sanely done in Wordpad first.
First off, I don't have much to say right now. Actually I have a ton of topics I want to write about but no inclination to do so. Ironically I've been writing quite a few Magic The Gathering stories in the MTG group as I'm getting back in to the game a bit. The playgroup I found is really nice, which is something I don't have much of IRL these days. I'm going to take a break from SG a bit, kinda. I won't be doing any more journal stuff for a while, reading or writing, so if you don't hear from me, I'm just away. I will be dropping by on Chat once in a while and posting on groups. If you send me a message, I will get, read and reply to it.
I also want to do more with my own forum sites a bit and also pursue some other stuff on other sites for personal stuff.
So instead, I wanted to just do something quick. I finally brushed off my camera and decided to take pictures of this crazy place of mine so you guys can get some sort of visual of the amount of nonsense that is constantly going into my head.
My Room
East wall, closet door.
The closet door. It's the view I have when I'm laying on my left when in bed. I obsess about this closet a bit (I probably should hang a poster here, no?). Not only is it cozy and hides away a lot of my goodies, I'm constantly thinking it's too small for my storage needs but would make a good hideaway. What you see next in the photos is less than half of my junkola. At least another half either isn't pictured or is in garage storage in carefully made cabinets there. Anyways, I really like this closet and I even wrote an erotic short story for a special someone about this closet one time, and she liked the story a lot. I think about it sometimes when I see the closet door.
Inside closet, left.
Lots of comic boxes and card boxes. You can see my work clothes on the hanger rack in the back. As you can see, my acoustic guitar there, she won't give up or give out her alternative lifestyle.
Inside closet, right.
More of the same.
Inside closet, top middle.
Lego boxes! And an amazing Belldandy model kit built into a statue. And a statue of Guan Yu, patron saint of honorable warriors and righteous causes.
East wall.
That's my manga book collection. I am able to purchase whole runs for wholesale, about 40%+ off of cover price because I own a store and thus have connections to the distributors. The manga comics are inside the closet in the boxes you saw. I was able to fit nearly all of it on to these shelves recently.
North wall.
This is the wall right above my head when I'm sleeping. It's basically all pr0nz DVDs, ranging from straight and lezzie to hard anal to transgendered. I'm pretty open-minded about that stuff, which is a nice way of saying I'm a perverted horndog. It's amazing I've been able to keep my virginity this long...then again having this much stuff probably helped keep me true. I'm still waiting for the right one. That cherrywood thing at the bottom middle there is this cool tape/radio/CD/record player. The speakers are inside and the fact that it comes out of a wooden box makes it sound better. I use this to listen to music or erotic audio before bedtime.
West wall, north-most.
This is what I see if I lay on my right side in bed. The black shelf is my CD collection. I have large collections from all decades and my taste goes all over. I really love my music. I'd be dead already by my own hand if I didn't have this wall here. The wood shelf on the left is actually two shelves. Bottom half is Japanese art books and photo books along with erotic illustrations. My favorite is Michael Manning. Above are some novels and graphic novels I'm reading currently, on the top shelf along with a collection of pr0nz manga and some magazine runs including Heavy Metal. My little library of guitar tablature books is there too, which has increased 3x since I picked up the guitar again.
West wall, middle.
This is my DVD collection. I have a lot of pride in this collection as it shows the growth of my knowledge in fine movie-making. On there are the best of the best movies, especially indie and foreign films, from the last 30 years. You name it, I got it, as long as it's not too new. There are a few guilty pleasures mixed in but all the best stuff is there. Embarrassingly, there is a two-foot high stack on the shelf of films I've bought and haven't watched yet. And I just picked up District 9 and Inglorious Basterds to add to it. Those two movies will probably be fairly mediocre films next to some of the heavy hitters on the shelf like Cinema Paradiso, Shawshank and City Of God.
West wall, south-most.
This is my shelf of reference books. It's closest to my computer desk on the south wall, which I won't show you because it's so messy...I iz embarassed! But these books range from old magazines about various cool topics to RPG books and adult industry publications. Basically I use this shelf for reference when I'm writing stuff. It's all within reach for lookup.
Living Room
Outer room, Binder shelves.
This is my hockey card collection, at least the binder collection. Most of my good cards are here but there are collections where the cards inside are worth less than the binder and sheets that hold them. Then there are random binders that have a card worth $500 bucks next to cards worth 50 cents. I sort them my own way and I don't sweat all the value. There are more good cards elsewhere but this is the bulk of it. At the bottom there, Totoro says "hi." He is an original Japanese toy from when the movie first came out. To the far left is my lil KNAC radio station memorabilia collection.
Outer room, opposite wall.
These are my graphic novels, mostly American comics plus some other stuff like Legos! My lil collection of Lego cars.
Outer room, opposite wall, southern corner.
Left shelf is my historical and text book library, my Macross Veritech collection and on the right shelf is my geode collection (yes geodes) and more binders of cards, non-hockey this time.
Closeup, Veritechs 1/55 scale, fuck yeah! Bandai set, not the cheapie stuff. The red and blue ones on the bottom are the best ones, Max and Miriya. I'm tempted to go back and buy the original Takara set. I used to have it but then I sold it for like $3000 to get in to Magic. I don't regret it but I do wish I had another set. They were all mint in boxes too. BTW, Transformer fans, you'll notice they all look like Jetfire/Skyfire. It's because Takara had the mold and used it for Transformers for that character.
Closeup of geodes, I flipped some up so you can see inside. They still need to be sent to the polisher. I'm afraid to go as I'll probably drop more money there buying a few more.
Closeup of historical books...a lot of them are of China. We're taught shit about that stuff in school here and my parents taught me almost nothing too. So I had no culture until I sought it out myself. Now, it's a minor addiction.
Big pile of random CDs that need to be filed/re-filed back in to the CD rack.
I would trade all of this junk away, this treasure trove of stories, art and media for...someone to be with.
Random Thought
Shayla Shayla...interesting cos-play idea, no? ...for a SG set idea. It's from El-Hazard anime.
Anyway, into the closet I go. I'm curious to find out who I'll be if I make it out. The old "me" needs to go.
