Well I knew I would have to deal with each day as they come, I am off work sick today and this weekend was one of ups and downs. Friday night I went to the Vestry to see my friends Britonica and Andy's new band the 'Knatterjacks'? (sorry Andy if i spelt that all wrong) and it was a ok night. Not a lot of people were out. Miffy and JoJo were having a night in, Joey didn't show till about 10 because he went to see another band in another pub but there were other people like Rowan, Sally and Emily who were out, so I wasn't standing about on my own all night.
Saturday, Andy drove us to Nevada Music because he wanted a new keyboard and I wanted to new amp. Well I say I wanted a new amp, I had discovered (after buying a new FX box) that the FX loop on my Marshall Valvestate 8240 had a fault and it doesn't give out a 100% FX signal. It would give out a 80% FX signal and 20% dry. When I found out the amp had this problem I emailed Marshall who never got back to me, so i spoke to Nevada earlier in the the week and they said that they would send the Amp to Marshall to get repaired but it might cost a bit to fix as I bought the amp in 1995 and the amp was discontinued in 1996 so it get the feeling that it's out of warranty. However I saw that the MG250DFX was the modern version of my 8240 so I thought I would treat myself. and as you can see from the photo I did...
I bought the MG250DFX (the bottom amp) as a replacement for the 8240 (the top amp). I originally was going to then sell the 8240 as it works fine apart from the stereo FX loop (which no one seems to use apart from me), However because the MG250DFX has a line out i've plugged that into the 8240 so I can use both amps at the same time! My neighbours love me well actually they will love me, because I also bought some headphones. What is also cool is that the MG250DFX has a "CD in" which means I've plugged my digital 8 track into the back, and put that ontop of the amp, so I can record stuff into the 8 track and play it back through the amp. It's all good. (Just so you know Andy didn't buy the keyboard he wanted in the end).
Saturday night I didn't go out. I should have done, but after Andy left that afternoon the amp lost my interest. I started to feel down and then by 7ish I just wasn't in the mood to be sociable. I then realised that it was getting later and later and so I ended up just going to bed, but I just couldn't sleep. The hours went by and before too long it was about 3 in the morning. I seem to be sleeping well on weeknights but on the weekends it's a different story. I guess i am still getting used to a change of routine as the weekends were the times I would see Bee.
Sunday I did my weekly food shopping and I had a wander around town. I then discovered that I couldn't find the key for my electricity meter. Without it I can't buy electricity. It's a bit like a pay and go mobile phone. I have to take the key to a top up point where I pay the shop money which they put onto the key and then i put the key into the meter which then keeps on ticking over until the money runs out. So I was in a bit of a panic. The key must have fallen out of my pocket while i was in town. I phoned the electricity company and told them that i had lost my key and they said they would send someone over, and they did. Someone turned up 30 mins later who checked the meter and gave me a new key. I was pretty impressed as I didn't think I would get such a speedy service on a Sunday afternoon.
I then met up with Alana, Kerri (fetchlight) and Tim for drinks in Spoons at about 4ish and then spent the rest of the evening there. It was good to see Kerri again because I think it must have been well over a year since she last visited, Gryff showed up and I haven't seen her for a few months so there was lots to talk about and the hours went by quite quickly.
So like i mentioned at the beginning of the post, It was a weekend of ups and downs. It wasn't as fun as last weekend but I seemed to be a lot busier, and busier is good too.

if I could actually play the guitar I might even be jealous.
