I haven't been to Hershey Park since I was a kid. They may have had 2 or 3 coasters there but nothing to get excited about. It was all about the chocolate...and still is! My wife and I went with another couple on Friday to see what they have to do now. Normally I'm all jitter before going on coasters because they've been hyped up. It was different this time for some reason. Maybe I'm familiar with my riding partner or maybe it's just not that big of a thrill any more.
WRONG...Dani and I rode some of the tame ones to get us started then we moved up to the Storm Rider. It's one of those catapult types that launches you into the hill at 72mph. My kind of ride! It turns you left, then over the hump and into a negative angled dive that you can't resist letting go! Immediately you go right back up into a loop that turns into a barrel roll. Later you get rolled left and the rolled back to the right. Down one more hill and into the station. It's quick but it was by far one of the better coasters I've been on.
The other awesome coaster is called Wild Cat. It's a woody in the back of the park. It's non-stop turns, dips, bunny hops, dives and anything else you could imagine on a woody. It doesn't shake you to death like some wooden coasters but it does give you a good shaking. There is one spot that made my day though....you go around a tall right hand turn early on. Later on you're coming up the opposite way towards that turn and you get the feeling that you should be going up and around to the left. Well, you go left but the track drops down and goes outside of the turn. A really cool effect if you're not in the front seat.
We had to take any seat we could on the Wild Cat due to impending rain. We just made it on before the rain came! After the rain the coasters were pretty much done. We rode some of the easy stuff for our spouses, non-coaster people, and got to see the train stuck on one of coaster we rode early in the day.
We walked out of the World of Chocolate with $41 worth of chocolate. Yikes!!! They have good prices for their stuff. Surprisingly! Definitely a good time!
Saturday I went to the Wild Goose Brewery right here in Frederick. They have tours on Saturday at 1:30pm. If you like good micro brew and you're in town then go! They are very liberal with the pouring of the beer. They tell you that it's mandatory to have a full cup before the tour starts. It's all within the confines of a building that you'd find in your local industry park. I'm a light weight due to meds so it only took about 2 beers before I was on a minor buzz. I would have needed a ride if I drank more...it was goooooooood!!! My friends were well lit. They also had a new friend that I had never met before. She's 24 and had an ass that just made you want to grab it and squeezzzzze! I got to know her over the next few hours. We went back to a friends house and continued the festivities. The new friend was well lit and easy to pick on. My buds were laughing at me because I have no problems egging others on when they're smashed. I kept asking the girl some really entertaining questions for the group. The single guy there that should have been hitting on her just sat there dumbfounded. I just couldn't get him to take the bait. I kept giving him leads and he wouldn't go for it. I couldn't so I figured that at least he could get somewhere.
Saturday night my wife was laughing at me because I watered the gardens and it started raining a little. I told her that I was trying to grow some rain. An hour later we had some wicked thunder, lightening and rain for about 3 hours. A great light show! More of the same on Sunday! I apparently did a good job growing some rain!
See ya' on the Silliness!
