It's bragging time

The North Florida Fair is in town and I entered a few photos in the art contest. Oddly enough, I won first place in the Professional Color Portrait division. Yay for the little blue haired girl who came out on a 30 degree night and let me take a few shots in an alley in downtown Cleveland, OH. I only go home to Cleveland in November, and those outdoor shoots can be awfully darn cold! Brrrrrrr



Yes, I know, that looks kind of crappy, so here is the rough edit of the image. It was edited with an Adobe profile and I forgot to save one with an sRGB profile for web usage. Ergo, the skin tone is a bit orange-ish.

I also won 2nd place in the Professional Black & White Nature/Animal division. This is a shot of Kami, who I worked with at the Barkstravaganza event.



In the Still Life division, I entered a b&w print of a statue that I shot in Cleveland last year. It's a statue of the Archangel Gabriel stabbing a serpent in the mouth with a sword. I ended up with 3rd place in that print.



And in the Professional Color Still Life division I got honorable mention for a print that I shot two years ago with my old point & shoot camera. I really liked this shot, but it was only worthy of honorable friggin mention . Oh well, I still had pretty good success. At least I got a blue and a red ribbon!!



After checking out the art show, I wandered around a bit and took a few shots. Tomorrow is the last night, and its supposed to be warm, so I'll go back and spend some time with the ol' camera.
