Requests are still coming in every day, but I should have everything wrapped up by next week. I never thought I would spend an entire month working on dog photos, but I guess that means that people are happy with the photos!
I've already received requests for second shoots and was even requested to appear at the Big Bend Dog Rescue event in September, but I'll be down south shooting with some of ya'll. I cannot live on dog photos alone!
Enough with the yapping, I'll post a few pups and then spoiler the rest.
Besame up above was the smallest dog of the day, weighing in at 2 1/4 pounds. Tipping the scales at 195 is Grendel. He was an absolute monstrosity!!
Lacey's mom was the most organized person. She brought an entire trash bag filled up with balloons along with a few "outfits" to dress Lacey in. She also knew that I had brought bubble stuff, so while I took pictures, three helpers blew bubbles (until one got light headed and had to stop as he got woozy)
Mango looked elegant in her scarf.
And this is my new girlfriend, Kami. When I got down to ground level to shoot, she lost interest in posing and ran over to lick my head. If I stood up, she'd try to climb up my leg. We tried squeaky toys, we tried treats and food, we tried dangling toys on a stick, we even tried leaving her alone in the room. All she wanted was to love on me. It was such a twisted and sordid affair!!
But she eventually got tired and sat down, and for a brief moment she stopped panting. In that moment I had my shot and got one of the best pics of the day.
Ok, I'll go ahead and dump the rest into the spoiler. Come see the manic german sheppard that darn near got herself eaten by a bigger dog.
