I write a lot of poetry on Keno slips in bars. I don't drink so I have to have something to do while waiting my turn to wow the intoxicated crowds with my karaoke talent. so I write poetry. I have probably writtne more poetry on keno slips in the past eight or os months that I have written anywhere else on any other medium . . . this is one of them.
Timeless Eyes
Ronin
Frozen in time in age old granite
marble
stone
no, something more prone to show your age
your features have shattered and fallen away.
Your body crumbles into disrepair
your hands broken
your breasts worn away
your hints of femininty all you have left.
Shining through the debris of what remains of your form,
Pools of blue,
pure cerulean,
liquid pools of paint
or tainted mercury
more than lifelike
more than human
your fluid sky in eyes
your remaining vestige of beauty
eyes
sacred
eyes amidst the cracked and wrinkled stone
timeless eyes
question of the moment:
name something that seems non-sequitor about yourself.
Me: As much as I am absolutely in love with music I listen to National Public Radio (talk Radio) all the time
