And Smiles

Eyes closed
and I know my light is still there beyond my lids
Delving deeper into the darkness inside
grasping at the muck that births creativity
waiting for a hand to reach out and know
waiting for all that fire to burn
locking away all the remembered moments
and smiles
I once shared with you
waiting to gift them unto different eyes

eyes open again
and the light surrounds me
and here all alone I make my stand
