Today was awful. I woke up with a 102° fever, third time I've been sick since the beginning of January, yet I haven't had a fever in about 7 years. When I get sick my temp usually drops for some reason instead, so I knew this sickness wasn't playing around. I had already missed a lot of work due to other flu-like illnesses (bronchitis just 2 weeks ago) and whatever I had in January so I drove myself to a Fastcare clinic because my GP is swamped with flu victims and I couldn't get in to see her. I get registered and switch seats and suddenly wake up to the nurse practitioners surrounding me and telling me to snap out of it and they kept saying my name over and over to rouse me, I have never fainted in my life but apparently today I fainted TWICE, while SITTING and I don't remember any of it, it was like sweet death had come for me. It was pretty fucked up, I mean, I was feeling cruddy but not black the fuck out suddenly cruddy. Apparently my lips were turning blue and they rushed me into the room to give me oxygen, but since it's just a Fastcare clinic they had to call an ambulance because I was beyond their level of care. I was feeling much better after the oxygen and laying down and tried to refuse an ambulance but that was a no-go. I guess my blood pressure got absurdly low and that's why I passed out, my blood sugar was normal. So the ambulance people gave me an IV and zoomed me off to the ER where they stuck like 30 sticker electrodes on me to check my heart and pumped over a liter of water or whatever into my blood, shoved the nasal swab in and eventually told me I have the flu variant A. The rest of the day after that wasn't great either having to get a ride all around town to retrieve my car and prescription. So basically besides me bitching about my awful day what I wanted to say (besides marveling at what a strange experience passing out was) EVERYONE WATCH OUT FOR THE FLU!!! It is literally killing healthy people right now! Call off work, take the hit and rest and see a doctor and get plenty of liquids, trust me, your health is more important than anything. Wash your hands, wash your dicks, (lol) and cover your face while sneezing.
Here is a sick pic of me with my rat Lachrymae being a total biatch. Those sticker electrodes sucked to peel off btw. Someone cheer me up?
I am not hurting her here, she just is a rescue and hates being handled.
