"freedom is the unity of willing and knowing." - schelling.
this quote seems to be all over my life lately. rather, i can't seem to get it out of my head. the unity of the concious and the unconcious. the meeting point of the inward and the outward. meditation was intense last night. physically and mentally. trying to stand up after kneeling for 40 minutes was the most humbling experiences of my life. i couldn't seem to quiet... well that whole pesky problem of i. "i have become to myself a vast problem." - st. augustine. i've got a long ways to go. i've been thinking a lot about the song of zazen lately. "all beings are primarily buddhas."
coltrane rocks my world. "a love supreme" was never a human love. not in the romantic sense. i can't believe i ever thought that what we had was "supreme". what i have right now. for myself, now that is what coltrane is talking about.
