it's so good to be home.
i just got back from portland where my life for the last 5 days was mainly spent in the ICU. i went there to help support my grandmother through a surgery to remove cancer from her lung. she was doing very well the day after the surgery but then all hell broke loose. since then, she has had her gallbladder removed, her ascending colon removed, she now has pneumonia, and she's still in critical condition. ahh, the wonders of modern medicine. and i thought people were supposed to get better in hospitals. and we've yet to even address the cancer in her throat. (yes kids, the surgeon general's not lying - cigarettes really are bad for you).
and now i get to go take a final for which i am ill-prepared. i haven't been able to concentrate on anything other than heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygenation levels.
at least i'm home now so i can be with the love of my life again tonight, whom i've missed like crazy.
