My first SG entry...I finally joined. I've been resisting for awhile because I figured I'd waste too much time on the site. But I've decided to do just that. Unfortunately, I'm too tired to write anything especially profound for my first entry. That's ok. I actually have La Boheme on my mind. I saw the opera last night, so I've been analyzing it today. The show was beautiful and fully entertaining, but just slightly disappointing. Baz Luhrman is the most amazing orchestrator of spectacle, so
I found is somewhat lamentable that only one of the four scenes is fast-paced and vivacious. That one scene is so amazing that the others pale slightly in comparison. I think the story just doesn't allow Baz to fully indulge his Absinthe-fueled insanity. But I'm guessing there won't be a Puccini re-write anytime soon. I think I'm done being overly critical now. Time to sleep...

And, how much does Miss Roxy rock?! Taking off from school for lands unknown...that was so unlike her it was LIKE her, ya know?? I just got a postcard from her from Thailand, and she and Pete have crossed over into India, I believe. I haven't read her last few updates. Are you getting her emails?
