My grandfather had beautiful penmanship, probably because he was raised by Catholic priests. His exceptional manual dexterity is probably one of the many reason that he excelled at being a mechanic, carpenter, machinist, and welder. A Jack of all trades and master of quite a few. Of all these things his penmanship is what I admired the most, for whatever stupid reason.
I have horrible penmanship, which is probably the biggest reason that I can type 80 words a minute. I want to change that though, so I ordered some Pilot Varsity fountains pens and some Spencerian Copybooks. It's just a start, and meager one at that, but I am hoping that it will lead to me no being so damn ashamed of my chicken scratchings.
