So there I was. Testing out my new very used Pantera GT mountain bike out at bluff point. I was coming down a pretty decent gradient with a few roots and some dirt. I noticed that I was started picking up more speed than i could handle with a curve coming up. So i squeeze my rear brakes a little harder. For a brief second i began to slow down towards a more acceptable speed. Suddenly the brake lever went limp and loose like a huge penis on a guy who should not be jumping. All it did was flop around. Shit was my first thought. The second though was lightly squeeze into my front brakes. Apparently though i need to get used to how touchy my front brakes are(I actually love them like that) before i test them while going to fast down hill. So there I was trying to lightly squeeze my front brakes. I failed miserably at the lightness thing. My front tire damn near locked up and up came the back tire having suddenly decided it wanted to be in front of my front tire. I went mostly head over handle bars and right into a bush. I hit the ground barely with my left wrist and rolled hard onto my shoulder and then onto my back. Holy fuck was my third thought. My bike flipped off to the side a bit and landed close by. I got up and quickly noticed my shoulder felt like it was on fire. So i picked up my bike and started to figure out what happened. Turns out the cap thingy crimped to my rear brake line had come off at some point and the line had frayed apart enough to make the the cable slip out and stop the rear brakes from working at all. And now i need a new brake line. My shoulder stopped hurting about half way back to my car though now there is a sharp searing pain somewhere in side when i read up to grab something and then bring my arm back down. Other then that there is no soreness at all. If it does not go away in a week or two i'll make let the jack ass navy medical people look at it. Other than that i had a great little trip through the woods.
