Thanks, suoda. Your appreciation is genuinely appreciated.
Well, 24 hours later and I still have an account, so I must not have offended the gods. Much like the Greek literature I am being coerced into reading by my English professor.
And I actually did like the excerpts from The Iliad that we had to read, thought that's exactly what theyw ere, excerpts, and the full texts would probably bore me to tears. Once you understand who everyone is and what generally is going on, the arguments these characters have in the heat of war can actually be entertaining.
Now, the 250 page excerpt of The Odyssey will be a problem, but I don't have to worry about that yet, as half the class could not get their books and thus we'll have to wait until NEXT WEEK to finish discussing The Iliad.
bebop is depressed. Not about the site, but about his life in general. Send him good wishes: wowbagger@mindspring.com
I am taking next week off work, as after the horrific experience of my Friday shift in Cabinet Hell, both me and my boss decided we didn't want to see each other anymore, tho we never said as much to our faces. It had a lot to do with a lack of respect for me and the work I was doing, and my boss projecting her personal problems onto her work and thus making everyone around her, including me, miserable. She even resorted to the time-honored tradition of mixing up the papers on the work I had done and then blaming me for 'everything being wrong', even though I did everything just fine and her mixing things up caused the errors. Whatever, f*ck them, I am DONE DONE DONE with them.
I will commemorate Sept. 11th by blowing town and spending the night in Cedar City like I did the Fourth of July. Peace and quiet shall do me good.
More to come as it develops... unless certain developements lead to the cancellation of my account, in which case it won't.
