Soooooooo one of my Pharmacology profs (who is also from Montreal and uber sweet/intelligent...my favorite prof basically) asked me if I was thinking about grad school...that's always a good sign, and she's knows I'm into Pharm and her research (cardiovascular research), so I will consider her lab seriously...
I got the enthusiasm and interest for the subject matter, and the talent to back it up, and she knows that, but that's not all that factors into it...It's really important, from what I am told, to pick a lab in which you fit in and where personalities jive with your own...I know this is true, as I am doing my honours in one lab, have volunteered in a few others, and also got to meet different grad students in this Cardiovascular Journal club, which is basically a series of lectures by grad students about current, relevant research on CV Physiology that interests them...and the students from my prof's lab attend those lectures, and I think I would fit right in...of course that means I would stay here for another little while instead of going back to Montreal, so we'll see...there are a lot of profs back home who do research at McGill whom I'd love to work with, so I'll have to seriously consider both options...decisions, decisions, decisions...HA! I'm kidding, I love to be in this position!
Anyway, just thought I'd share this good news, as this is yet another option that presents itself to me for grad school...
Alright, gotta go back to lab now...
Later,
Patrick
