Ugh. What a day.
The morning was fairly eventful, but as soon as noon passed, it began to suck.
First, I had been sitting at the computer and got up to go upstairs. My coffee was cold, so I went to take it upstairs. As I opened the door it hit a pillow (or my futon) and shot back and hit my arm, sending the coffee cup flying. Which then proceeded to pour the entire contents onto my $150 keyboard (yes, I spent that much money on a wireless keyboard and mouse set). I think now I see why it cost that much. I grabbed the keyboard, ran upstairs to the sink and poured the coffee out of the keyboard. Then I quickly pried off all the keys and attacked the skeleton with a bunch of Q-tips. Seems the key surfaces took the brunt of it. The way the keyboard is designed is that there's this tray that covers the key contacts. Where the key contacts are there are sleeves for each one, serving 2 purposes - holding the key, and proctecting the innards. A fine job it did. Afterwards I cleaned each key and reassembled. Good as new!
Then I had to run over to my friend's place and borrow his hydraulic jack. Afterwards, I ran to the bank to deposit my huge $6.00 cheque I got from SGI (refund after cancelling my plates) and take out some money. Said money was to pick up a starter for my brother's Lincoln (and what a big fucker that starter is). Then I ran uptown to grab some colour ink and pick up some blinds that my mom had ordered.
Now, those tasks weren't bad, it was the driving that sucked. I got held up by a pettibone crane that was driving slow, had to detour through 4 construction zones, got stuck behind a slow motorhome and a farm truck in the other lane, got held up by an even bigger crane driving even slower, PLUS had to deal with 500 other jackasses and their boneheaded driving. Thank fuck there were no trains crossing as I was driving home, else I'd probably have gone apeshit.
All that shit should have taken me an hour or so, but ended up being almost 3.
