It's almost 11am and I have no clue as to why I'm awake right now. I have been being a total insomniac lately, not falling asleep till after 5 in the morning then not waking up till like 2 in the afternoon. Yeah I know technically that's not insomnia since I'm sleeping but I just can't sleep at night. Its a problem I've always had but its been particuarly bad lately. Anyway I'm going to need to get up early most of next week so it isn't a bad thing I'm up right now.
Yesterday's mail included Troma's Make Your Own Damn Movie DVD collection which I've yet to watch but am looking foward to as even though they have a bad reputation I learned a ton when I worked there and it was actually one of the better experiences of my life. Also in the mail was my lighting kit I bought off of e-bay. Its a pretty nice setup, especially for the money.
So for the first time in a long while I have a pretty busy schedule ahead of me. I'm working at a Daytime Emmy dinner tomorrow night to assist with sign-in and also to help backstage. Its not a televised thing and its for the behind the scenes people mainly. It wasn't made clear to me if there was any cash involved but usually when its not there isn't. Then Sunday and Monday I'm working as an AC/PA on a pilot of a political type talk show called "re:think". I'm actually looking foward to that as I love to be on-set. I get paid too if the show gets bought by someone (which is highly unlikely cause there's a billion pilots and not many get picked up). Then finally Tuesday and Wednesday I'm running screenings for the News & Documentary Emmy's, which from what I understand basically involves me operating a vcr and I get $50 a day for it. So working from Saturday till Wednesday I will in all likelyhood make $100. I'm selling out my services way too cheap, but really I need experience and every little job helps. It also doesn't hurt to meet people and make contacts, although I suck at it.
If anyone has any work on a film or tv show contact me, I'm a great asset. Also if anyone has any bartending work let me know.
