Yesterday was pretty interesting. I went into work and had to find these little video clips among a ton of tapes but I found 2 of them in less than an hour. So I didn't have much to do the rest of the day, just got some info on film festivals, and then I watched while amy logged a tape of these 9th graders learning to debate which was really funny. During my "lunch" I was given the task of buying some 100mb zip disks but absolutly no place had them. I also went to the other production company and dropped off my coverage and the script and picked up a new one before heading back. One interesting thing I was asked to do was see if I could find anything for the editor, this nice lady Ruth, about moving stuff from AVID to Final Cut. I managed to find what they wanted fairly fast. Although still the actual transferring, which I have nothing to do with will be a pain in the ass. She should just stick with the avid. But as I was leaving I was talking to Amy and she mentioned that Ruth had worked with Warhol and Fellini!!! Holy shit! Definatly gotta talk to Ruth any chance I get and see if she has any cool stories, she probably does. Ugh anyway seems like its another weekend of nothingness for me. Damn it needs to be my birthday already so I can at least go to a bar or a club or something.

FCP ownes avid. she going to use a nice shiny dual g5? you need somethin good like that to do the real-time work which its famous for.
but if youre just doing basic stuff then those avid systems are fine. switching to final cut pro basically means youll have to upgrade all the computers too and imo if you dont need the advanced features why bother? ive just played with it a bit because i "found" it and had the urge...
