Woahh....sooo much has been happening it is scary really .
Here is a breif overview without tooo much detail.
2 weekends ago i went to a local hardcore gig that had a number of local hardcore bands. It was interesting and a bit of fun, but seriously, hardcore music is just music and labels are just words. Some of the "kids" there are way too caught up in themselves, their music and their "scene". But all in all i had fun.
The weekend just gone was choc-full of fun and excitement...and a few surprises as well.
It all started on Friday night. I was hoping to be selected to play football on the weekend as i had done the work and i beleived i would, but politics always plays a role and i was sceptical. I was selected and as a result suited up to play on Saturday(it was only my second game for the season).
I played the best game i have played for the club (from memory) ...i had a chance to prove myself and i fucking did ....try to keep me from playing this week
After football i headed to the Rapid Festival . It was only a local all ages music festival, but for what it was worth ($30) it was exceptional value. Say nothing, Behind Crimson Eyes and Sunk Loto were awesome.
After Rapid it was off to the valley for a bit of clubbing / pubbing. Stayed in there for a while, had a subway then went home.
Sunday was interesting too...without planning a band practice session / meeting occured. (oh btw, i have started up a band with a couple of mates...i am learning the bass with much haste) We discussed various issues, decided unanimously on the name and got some material written. Then i got picked up and taken to see an ice hockey game ( i had to specify ...if i just said hockey it would mean field hockey as i am in Australia again)
The Brisbane Bluetongues ( a Blue tongue is a local species of lizard)....... Hockey is funny in Australia, I was there with about 150 other spectators watching the National Ice Hockey League and it was ok, but very, very amature. I shouldn't complain though, if this league does well then soon enough we may have a product similar to minor leagues in the US and Canada.
I'm sure i have missed some stuff, but i really can't think right now
Still unemployed
3 months drug free
2 weeks caffeine freee
1 1/2 weeks alcohol free
its getting easier
.....ROCK.....

Alas,we wont be doing Bris....its gonna be a bit of a stretch doing the 2 shows as it is, and we never played Brisbane when we were actually going. Im in Melbourne, our drummer is in Sydney and guitarist and singer are both in Perth. We'll practice for a week in Sydney, play on the Friday then play Melbourne on the Saturday...thats the plan anyways.
